Le Baiser Brooch x Musée Rodin
Titlee x musée Rodin collection
In 1882, Auguste Rodin creates The Kiss, an embracing couple. This sculpture is inspired by the story of Paolo and Francesca, two characters from The Divine Comedy, a poem by Dante Alighieri (1265-1321). As they read a courteous love novel, Francesca da Rimini and her brother-in-law, Paolo Malatesta, discover their love and give in to their feelings. Rodin chose to immortalize this loving impulse. The rest of the story tells that the lovers were surprised and then killed by Francesca's husband, condemning them to wander in the Underworld.
Only available at Titlee and the musée Rodin shop.
